Kew News – One Fifth Of The World’s Plants Are At Risk Of Extinction:

This study by Britain’s Kew Gardens finds that 1/5 of the world’s plants are under threat of extinction.

Fortunately, the study finds that not many North American plants are under threat of extinction.

Habitat loss is found to be the biggest threat to plants worldwide. This is the main concern here in North America.
An interesting finding is, “Plants are more threatened than birds, as threatened as mammals and less threatened than amphibians or corals.”
