Summer Blooming Native Plants in Philadelphia

Swamp Rose Mallow (Hibiscus palustris). Photo by Donna L. Long.

Here are my latest photos of summer blooming native plants in Philadelphia. Native flowers are my first love. I am fascinated by the shapes, the colors the scents. I like watching insects sip nectar, lay eggs and eat the leaves and petals. Everything about native plants fascinates me.

Here are some the of the native plant photos I have taken in the past week.  All the photos were taken at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve in New Hope, PA and are native to Philadelphia and the Mid-Atlantic region. Enjoy!
